Audio Consultants Audio Visual, an established (AV) design-build firm in Houston, Texas, recently completed a full upgrade of the Audio and Video systems at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, which is located southeast of downtown in the Gulfton district.

Due to its unique architecture and acoustics, the church required an accurate speaker system. Martin Audio was chosen for this purpose. The wireless control of the system through tablet utilizing a router and a wide-area wireless access point network. This system enables remote control from anywhere in the church.

The architectural design of the Holy Ghost Church is a cruciform (cross-shaped). A total of eight of these speakers -- four in each Transept – were installed. Additionally, two of these speakers were installed on each side of the Nave. This provided complete and accurate coverage, making it easier to hear throughout the church.

Four power amplifiers drive the speakers in the church, and two equalizers were utilized for equalization. There are also ancillary low-voltage speakers driven by a power amplifier around the outside perimeter of the property.
